Why is Arghya offered at sunset and sunrise?

The two offerings express gratitude for completion and hope for renewal. Chhath honours the setting Sun before welcoming the rising Sun the following morning.

What food is prepared?

Must every vrati undertake a waterless fast?

Families may use a clean pond, designated community water body or another respectfully prepared place where local practice permits. Follow family guidance, protect the water and obey local safety rules.

What should someone wear?

Clean, modest clothing suited to family tradition and the weather is appropriate. Practical safety matters too: choose secure footwear for the approach to the ghat and change only where facilities allow.

How do I find the exact Arghya time?

Use sunrise and sunset timing for your exact city and date from a trusted local Panchang. National timings are not precise enough for every location.

Can a first-time devotee use this website as the full ritual authority?
